Key Stage 3 Curriculum Information

We run a Mastery Ethos, helping students to gain confidence and Mastery before moving on at their own pace.

Our curriculum is broken down into small steps to ensure success for all. Topics fall into 5 Areas and lead to GCSE topics, they include:

  • Algebra
  • Statistics
  • Geometry
  • Proportion

Key Stage 4 Curriculum Information

AQA GCSE Mathematics

This is examined at the end of Year 11 and includes topics that fall into 5 areas:

  • Number
  • Algebra
  • Statistics
  • Geometry
  • Proportion

There will be 3 exams, one Non-Calculator and two Calculator papers.

Key Stage 5 Curriculum Information

Edexcel A-Level Mathematics

This is examined at the end of year 13. It has 3 sections:

  • Pure (algebra & Trigonometry based)
  • Statistics
  • Mechanics

Edexcel A-Level Further Mathematics

This is examined at the end of year 13. It has 3 sections:

  • Core Pure – looking at new branches of Mathematics such as Complex Numbers and Matrices.
  • There is the choice of 2 from 4 other branches of Mathematics.
    • Further Pure
    • Further Mechanics
    • Further Statistics
    • Decision

To study Further Maths you must also student A-Level Maths.

Enrichment

Lunch Time/Afterschool clubs such as Homework Help, Chess Club, Cipher Club.
