Our Manor 13-17 June 2022

Welcome to this week's newsletter

Wow! What an end to the week with such scorching temperatures. I thought our staff and students coped really well. The option to wear Manor School PE kit definitely benefited the students. It is forecast to be cooler next week and so we will return to normal uniform expectations from Monday. There will be no option to wear PE kit as part of the day-to-day school uniform.

On Wednesday after school this week I took the opportunity to go over to Wollaston and watch some of our Year 7 and 8 students compete against other schools in an athletics competition. It was a great demonstration of our school value of resilience. Competing against other athletes and doing so in tough conditions in the heat was great to see. The students were a credit to the school and they supported their peers incredibly well. Thank you to all the staff and students involved.

As part of the Whole Child Project across the Nene Education Trust schools, our students and staff are busy preparing for a contribution to the Wind in the Willows performance at Stanwick Lakes. All schools will be represented in the performance. Rehearsals are going well and we are excited to see the final performance which is coming soon.

Have a great weekend when it arrives!

National School Sport Week

20-26 June sees National School Sport Week taking place, and we would love to see as many students as possible at our PE clubs during lunchtime and after school – let's see if we can get a record number of attendance. Students can come along to develop skills, be with friends or just to have a bit of fun whilst being active.

If they are active outside of school hours too, whether this is at an external sports club or just out and about cycling etc, we would love for students to send us photos of them enjoying themselves that we can use on the school's social media pages and newsletter. Photos can be emailed to PE@manor.school.
