At Key Stage 4 students follow the AQA GCSE Drama programme of study. This course encourages students to:
Component One: Understanding Drama (40%)
This is a written exam in which students will be assessed on their knowledge and understanding of how drama and theatre is developed and performed.
Component Two: Devising Drama (40%)
This is a practical component in which students are assessed on their ability to create and develop ideas to communicate meaning for performance.
Component Three: Texts in Practice (20%)
Students will perform two extracts from one play (it must contrast the set play for component 1).
The Key Stage 4 Drama club enables students to fully utilise their rehearsal time and make use of the technical facilities at the school.
